He was predeceased by: his sister Connie; and his parents, Charlotte Ann Pierce and Dr. Thomas J. Kawka. He is survived by: his brothers, Thomas and Donald (Phiwan Promsen); his siblings' children, Daniel, Joseph and Emily; and his close friend Liz Warg.
