He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Ritsema and Nellie Ritsema (Diekman); his siblings, Albert Ritsema (Wilma), Robert Ritsema (Cheryl) and Jane Cooke (Cliff); and his sisters-in-law, Joan Ritsema, Shirley Rudnik and Phyllis Wildeboer (Ken).

He is survived by: his wife Charlene; his children, Cynthia Kvasnovsky (Jim), Christine Torres (Rick) and Todd Ritsema (Kristi); his grandchildren, Stephen Ritsema (Danielle), Jannelle Brawner, Brendan Torres, Abby Torres, AJ Wawee, Sophie Ritsema and Carter Ritsema; his great grandchildren, Eliza Mis, Ellsie Ritsema and Easten Ritsema; his siblings, Susanne Vanden Bosch (Robert), Herbert (Jan), James (Jean) and William Ritsema (Verna); and his brother-in-law Larry Rudnik.
