It is with sadness that the passing of Ronald Firel Palmitier of Grand Rapids, Michigan is shared. Ronald, born on May 22, 1938, passed away on May 30, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his former wife Lavon Palmitier; his parents, Richard Palmitier and Elsie Palmitier; his mother-in-law Martha Stroud; his brother Richard Palmitier; and his siblings-in-law, Ardie Bannink, Bonnie Palmitier and Les Stroud.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Marean; his children, Terri Ciosek (Richard), Randy Palmitier (Audrey) and Sue Palmitier; his grandchildren, Katie, Emily Ciosek and Ryan Palma (Danielle); his stepchildren, Sarah Rohen (Michael), David Marean and Julie Symborski (Paul); his brothers, Robert Palmitier (Charlene), Roger Palmitier, Russell Palmitier (Vanessa) and Raymond Palmitier (Karen); and his sisters-in-law, Patricia Palmitier and Dianne Rector (Delbert). He is also survived by 12 step-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 15th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Clark Retirement Community (1551 M. L. K. Jr St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506). A reception will be held on Monday, June 15th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
