He was predeceased by: his daughter Ellen Rae Batema; his mother Grace Batema; and his sister F. Joan McCoy. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Batema; his children, Carolyn Batema, Donna Engel (Bill) and James Batema (Cathy); his grandchildren, Gabrielle Jefferson, Tommy Kirchoff, Laurel McGlothlin (Chad), Katie Zemaitis (Joe), Sara Engel, Jamie Armstrong (Tim) and Alan Batema (Theresa); and his siblings, Alyce Gray and James P. Batema (Kay). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
