Ruth Jane Broyles Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth Jane Broyles of Grand Rapids, Michigan, who passed away on January 19, 2024 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Bowen and Pauline Bowen (Benning); her husband Wilbor "Bud" Broyles; her former husband James "Bob" R. Atwood; her brothers, Bob Bowen, Donald Bowen (John) and Bill Bowen; and her granddaughter Patricia Atwood.
She is survived by: her children, James Atwood (Gisela), Dan Atwood (Sonia), David Atwood, Debra Atwood-Stout (Jeff) and Catrina Emmons (Jeff); her grandchildren, Kathy Atwood, Jennifer Atwood, Mindy Day (Anthony), David Atwood, James Atwood (Ashley), Barbara Garcia (Ernie), Anthony Atwood, Amelia Emmons and Justine Emmons; her great grandchildren, John Atwood, Taylor Atwood, Peyton Atwood, Christopher Atwood, Mila Day, Vanessa Garcia, Gigi Garcia and Terry Lowery III; her siblings, Betty Gray, Dorothy Gardner, Carol Safranski (Steven) and Rodney Mottl (Faith); her in-laws, Karen Bowen, Sue Bowen, Tom Cardinal and Margaret Ickes (Steve); and her close friends, Tammy Roerig, Tom Cunniffe, Carol Lubbers and Emma Ryan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
