She was predeceased by: her father Lowell Sommers; and her parents-in-law, Frank and Barbara VanderVoord. She is survived by: her husband Tom; her children, Mark VanderVoord (Trista), Rob VanderVoord (Dawne Bell) and Tracy Quist (Jeremy); her grandchildren, Abby VanderVoord, Ethan VanderVoord, Lana Quist, David Quist and Henry V. Bell; her mother Dolores Sommers; her siblings, Deb Metzger (Art), Brenda Martinez (Joe), Linda Riemersma (Denny), Lisa VanderHoff (Ty), Melanie VanderHoff (Bill) and Tim Sommers (Robin); and her siblings-in-law, Sue Philp (Larry), Jim VanderVoord (Mary Anne), Mary Fues (Jim) and Sally Nicewander (Don). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Pius X Catholic Church (3937 Wilson Ave SW, Grandville, MI 49418).
