Shirley leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Shirley’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Shirley will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She is survived by: her husband Rabbi Albert Lewis; her daughters, Julie Lewis Torem and Jamie Lewis Masco (Kelley Rahilly); her grandchildren, Max, Ellie Torem and Jacob Masco; and her brothers, Larry Kane (Marlene) and Sheldon Kane (Cheryl). She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Temple Emanuel (1715 Fulton St E, Grand Rapids, MI 49503).
Shirley's family request that in lieu of flowers, contributions to the Temple Emanuel music fund or the Alzheimers Association may be made to honor her memory.
