He was predeceased by: his daughter Laura; his parents, Antons Pipers and Marija Pipers; his siblings, Tony Pipars (Nellie) and Nora Flohe (Joe); his niece Anita Nettleman; his brother-in-law Valdis Unzens; and his nephews, John Unzens and George Whitfield.

He is survived by: his wife Virginia Pipers; his son Steve Pipers (Wendy); his grandchildren, Zak Pipers (Shelby), Dr. Kennedy Pipers and Jace Pipers; his daughter Jennie Levack (Jim); his grandchildren, Jordan Hunter (Madison), Ford Levack (Grace), Gabbi Levack, Morgan McDermott (Kyle) and Merin McDermott (Darren); his daughter Kittie Schumaker (Rob); his grandchildren, Robert Schumaker (Jackie), Hunter Schumaker (Hailey), Katerina Schumaker (Spencer) and Nikolas Schumaker; his sister Monika Unzens; his niece Anita Whitfield; and his nephews, Brian Flohe (Joan), Bruno Unzens (Elizabeth) and Gary Nettleman (Paddie).
