He was predeceased by: his wife Sharon; his grandson Colten; his parents, Dale Thatcher and Eleanor Thatcher; and his parents-in-law, Harold and Elaine Geers.

He is survived by: his children, Alison, Aaron Adema, Chris and Rachel Thatcher; his grandchildren, Gibson, Izy and Olivia; his siblings, Larry Thatcher, Ellen, Kevin Rambadt, Lynn and Chris Pulling; his siblings-in-law, Cal, Noni Geers, Dirk, Phyllis Bakhuyzen, Brian and Amy Geers; Charlie. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
