He was predeceased by: his mothers, Edna Hoeksema (Mastenbroek) and Jane Pekelder (VanderGriend). He is survived by: his wife Mary Hoeksema (Pekelder); his children, Tom Jr. (Stacia), Adam (Coy), Laura and Jenny (Mark); his grandchildren, Taryn, Seth, Shae, Tayva, Kahalah, Wasson, Ra'Kai, Kennadi, Tristin, Aydin, Ashtin, Noelle, Rowan, Piper, Gideon, Kai, Koda, Jovi and Nico; his siblings, Mary Koning (late Harvey) and William Hoeksema (Angie); and his in-laws, Anne, Michael Bruinooge, Ben, Pam Pekelder, Jane, Daniel Ward, Ruth Pekelder and Rick Huizinga. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Sunday, October 5th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Grace Church (100 Buckley St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
