Virene J. Squires Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virene J. Squires (Grand Rapids, Michigan), who passed away on March 28, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Virene may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Virene touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her husband Richard Squires; her parents, Johannes Steenhagen and Wilhelmina Steenhagen; and her brothers, Gerald Steenhagen (Evelyn), Roger Steenhagen (Lois) and John Steenhagen.
She is survived by: her stepson Michael Baker (MaryJo); and her siblings, Wilma Osborn (Bill) and Ronald Steenhagen (Ethel). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested in Virene's honor. These may be made to Gentiva Hospice, for the loving care they provided in her final days, and sent to 625 Kenmoor Ave suite 115 Grand Rapids, MI 49546.
