He was predeceased by: his wife Joanne Mae Zondervan Boer; his parents, William H. Boer and Frances Boer; his brother Roger W. Boer; and his in-laws, Bernard D Sr., Wilma Zondervan, Bernard D Jr. and Beverly Zondervan Jensen.
He is survived by: his children, Terry Boer, Kimberly Patton, Greg, Michele Boer, Janella "Missy" and Todd Harkema; his grandchildren, Bryan, Elizabeth Boer, Sara, Pete Childerson, Rachel, Cal Thorne, Garrit Harkema (Lauren Abrell), Lucas Boer, Spencer White and Elliana Boer; his great grandchildren, Henry Boer, Elliott Boer and Emily Boer; his brother Randy (Pam Boer); and his sister-in-law Judy Boer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Calvin Church (700 Ethel Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
