We are sad to announce that on July 7, 2025, at the age of 100, Wesley Vryhof (Grand Rapids, Michigan) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelius Vryhof and Dora Vryhof; and his wife Frances Vryhof. He is survived by: his children, Sue Aupperlee (William), David Vryhof and Steve Vryhof (Gayle); his grandchildren, Mark (Jana), Todd (Shannon), Anna (Dan), Gwen (Jim), Daniel (Theiju) and Nick; and his great grandchildren, Drew, Kate, Joe, Ryan, Reid, Gwen, Grant, Marin, Nathan and Abby. He is also survived by 2 sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to the Society of St. John the Evangelist https://www.ssje.org or to Daystar Academy https://daystaracademy.org.

“Condolences to family. The Banner notice did not mention his service rescuing Calvin students - teaching an understandable core Physics class to scientifically challenged undergrads, enabling us to move on in other fields. His practical lessons are still remembered and passed on, making the class more than simply checking a box. “Professor” Vryhof met us where we were, helped us see possibilities and move on in lives of service.
