He is survived by: his sons, Gregory Ayers (Allison), Geoffrey Ayers (Sara) and Ryan Ayers; his grandchildren, Connor, Stella, Scarlett, Jack, Alyssa, Noah Mihalik and Bill; his sister Susan Bolton; and his brother-in-law Rodger Bartlett (Diana).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the O'Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home (3980 Cascade Rd SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Cascade Cemetery (7200 30th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508).
