William Heethuis Obituary
It is with sadness that the passing of William Heethuis of Grand Rapids, Michigan is shared. William passed away on September 6, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Heethuis and Hendricka Heethuis; his brother Bob; his sister-in-law Helen Heethuis; and his grandson Adam Veurink.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn; his children, Jim Heethuis (Jeanie), Sandra Veurink (Douglas), Joni Johnson (Michael), Steve Heethuis (Theresa), Kevin VanZee (Ann) and Kristy Johnson (Daren); his grandchildren, Ezra Heethuis (Madeline), Ellie Willett (Christopher), Esther Heethuis, Isaiah Heethuis, Amber Veurink, Azandra Veurink, Zachery Heethuis, Gibson Heethuis, Elliott Heethuis, Finley Heethuis, Jane VanZee, Charlie VanZee, Cade Johnson, Ian Johnson, Kenna Johnson and Erik Johnson; his great grandchildren, Leland, Lewis, Mabel, Zena and Zuko; and his sisters, Sally Bielema (Ron) and Mary Sytsema (Bob). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Stroo Funeral Home (1095 68th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Caledonia Christian Reformed Church (9957 Cherry Valley Ave SE, Caledonia, MI 49316).
