She was predeceased by: her parents, Sylvan Wurst and Beatrice Wurst; her parents-in-law, Eugene and Winifred Schmitt; and her siblings-in-law, Carol Anderson (David) and Paul Schmitt.
She is survived by: her husband Daniel Schmitt; her children, Jonathan Schmitt (Shannon), Angela Mazurek (Derek), Adam Schmitt and Joseph Schmitt (Erinn); her grandchildren, Kirsten Schmitt, Megan Floyd (Devante), Allison Schmitt, Athena Schmitt, Alana, Wesley Mazurek, Aiden Schmitt and Frances Schmitt; her siblings, Kenneth Wurst (Jan), Thomas Wurst (Pat), Roger Wurst (Frani) and Elaine Warnecke (Mark); and her siblings-in-law, Carl Schmitt (Carole), Jeffrey Schmitt (Suetta), Frank Baklarz (Candy) and Leslie Anderson (Scott). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services (620 Washington Ave, Grand Haven, MI 49417). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (213 E Savidge St, Spring Lake, MI 49456).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bonnie's memory to the St. Mary's Catholic School or Food Pantry.
