He was predeceased by : his parents, Blanche Burkholder (Herr) and Clarence Burkholder; and his brother Harold. He is survived by : his wife Aleda (Sikkema); his daughters, Christina Cooper and Anne Engvall (Steve); and his stepchildren, Randall, Velde (Susie Chang), Debra Hoekstra (John) and Laurel. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
