Dennis Earl Balkon Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dennis Earl Balkon of Grandville, Michigan, born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 27, 2026 at the age of 71. He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginia Balkon (Paulsen) and Earl Balkon; his stepmother Johan Balkon; and his brothers, John Balkon and Rich Tonning.

He is survived by: his wife Patti; his children, Corey Balkon (Rebecca) and Kelli Nelson; his grandchildren, Caden Balkon, Jax Balkon and Lauren Nelson; and his siblings, Patty Bialek, Linda Flory (Jack), Janet VanderLaan, David Tonning (Karen), Cathy Popowich (Mike), Christine Tonning, Bernie Tonning (Tracey), Judy Briggs, Carol Polich, Karin Chudy (Russ), James Balkon and Stacy Loew (Gary). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Cancer Association in Dennis's memory.
