It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Payten Lynn Johnson (Grandville, Michigan), who passed away on March 27, 2026, at the age of 18, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Payten departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Payten may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Payten leaves behind.
She is survived by: her parents, James Johnson and Elizabeth Johnson; her sister Malarie Johnson; and her grandparents, Roderick, Jan Johnson, Doug, Lori Nieuwkoop, Rick and Rhonda Mayhew. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
In honor of Payten and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, or any other organization supporting children with special needs.
