He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his children, Jim, Julie DeGroot, Jerry, Michelle DeGroot and Jason DeGroot; his grandchildren, Jeffry, Emily DeGroot, Cassi, Mitch Overweg, Megan, Matt Deaton, Zach, Matthew, Sarah DeGroot, Troy, Anna DeGroot, Blake, Jessica DeGroot, Madeline, Jordon Lambert, Lucas and Annie DeGroot; his siblings, Renze DeGroot, Anne, Dan Doorn and Agnes Keegstra; and his sister-in-law Rosemary Vroon. He is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
