He was predeceased by : his parents, James Garrett and Lucille Garrett (Wilmarth); his wife Patricia Folkertsma; and his siblings, Roger, Walter, Lois and Peggy.

He is survived by : his children, Denise Germer (Bruce), Pam Garrett (Ed Hodges), Robert Garrett (Cate Lamkin), Katherine McLucas (Wes) and Kim Sawyer (Jon). He is also survived by his family, friends.
