He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Hiler and Esther Hiler (Bloneshine); his wives, June Hiler and Ardis J. Schleh-Hiler; his son Gordon Hiler; his great grandchild Cade Hiler; and his siblings, Bernice Zoet, Mary Jane Kenyon, Joyce Atwood, Kenneth Hiler, Howard Hiler and Milo Hiler.

He is survived by: his son Terry Hiler (Roxane); his grandchildren, Tara Wright (Erik) and Chad Hiler; his great grandchildren, Ethan DeLong, Jorden DeLong and Clover Hiler; and his siblings, Daniel Hiler, Cathy Davis and Bonnie Travis. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Rice Lake Baptist Church (10793 S Spruce Ave, Grant, MI 49327). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
