She was predeceased by: her parents, William Fink and Alice Fink; her husband Lewis H. Sorenson; her son Lewis F. Sorenson; and her siblings, Bill Jr., Jim, Eugene, Clarence, Arthur, Dolores Walker, Mary Harvey (Bill) and Judy Davis.
She is survived by: her daughters, Kathleen A. Simpson and Nina Thurwachter (John); her grandchildren, Heather McGuire (Jamie), Joe Simpson (Lindsey), Sean and Evan Thurwachter; her great grandchildren, Blake (Becca), Tyler (Sidney), Justin, Addison, Brody, Daphne and Davis; her great great grandchild Camryn; her extended family Denise Elekonich (family: Patrick, Romy, Christina); and her pet Romeo.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the St. John Lutheran Church (710 Spruce St, Grayling, MI 49738).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Joyce's honor to St. John Lutheran Church.
