He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertha Cooley (Eifert) and Charles Cooley; his siblings, Clifford and Marjorie Cowardin; his son Philip; and his former wife Joyce Cooley (Carpenter).
He is survived by: his wife Nancy (Brown); his children, Elizabeth Mann (Mike) and Daniel; his stepdaughter Michelle Dastagir; his daughter-in-law Kathy Cooley; his grandchildren, Ryan Cooley (Kayla), Stephen Cooley (Melissa), Suzanne Cooley (Andreas Efthymious), Julie Mann (Claire Bullock) and Eric Mann; and his great grandchild Gwendolyn Jo Cooley.
