He was predeceased by: his parents, Waldema W. and Mildred; and his siblings, Josephine Sears, Arlene Blaesing, Emma Nastaj and Robert Johnson.

He is survived by: his wife Janet Rockensock; his children, Michele Johnson, Amy Horton (Dewey), Julie Johnson and David Johnson (Beth); his grandsons, Michael, Gabriel and Christopher; and his sister Geraldine Smith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
