He was predeceased by: his parents, Gust Jahnke and Doris Jahnke. He is survived by: his wife Susan of Sostoa; his children, James Jahnke (Krista) of Huntington Woods, Lauren Jahnke of Mt. Pleasant and Thomas Jahnke (Elizabeth); and his grandchildren, Luke of Jack, J. J., Carmen, Liesl and Magnus. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Verheyden, Inc. (16300 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Park, MI 48230). A memorial service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Grosse Pointe Memorial Church (16 Lake Shore Rd, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI 48236).
