Robert P. Sossi Obituary
Robert Patrick Sossi, a beloved husband, brother and friend, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born on May 9, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan, Robert spent his life dedicated to his family, his passion for his work, and his love of dogs. He resided in Grosse Pointe Woods, where he lived a life surrounded by his loved ones.
Robert was the husband of Ljiljana Stankovic-Sossi, whom he had dated since 2002 and married in 2021. Prior to that, he was husband to his first wife, the late Beth Sossi.
Robert was also a brother to John (Donna) Sossi, Michael Sossi, James Sossi, Thomas Clark, and Elizabeth (the late Herman) Wang. Proud Uncle of Michael Sossi, Pamela Sossi, the late Jacquelyn Wang, Thomas Jakubiec and Alexander Jakubiec. Proceeded in death by his parents, John and Joan Sossi.
Robert had a career that everyone was proud of and he enjoyed sharing the many stories of great people and projects from his first jobs working construction with IBEW Local 58, followed by as an electrician and Union Rep at the Detroit Free Press, and finishing as an electrician at the Stellantis (Chrysler) Sterling Heights Assembly Plant.
When he wasn't working, he loved spending time with his family, with his dogs, listening to jazz music, and being an avid reader. Spending time with the many different dogs during his life, and sharing those funny and sometimes amazing stories of what happened during those 4:30 am walks every day, is something we will all remember. His dog Bailey, a field spaniel, is a joy and will continue to be a remembrance of Robert.
In leu of flowers, Robert would have appreciated donations to either of the following causes he supported: National MS Society https://www.nationalmssociety.org https://iheartdogs.networkforgood.com.
