The family announces the passing of Val Champine of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan on September 11, 2026. Val, born on February 17, 1954, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Otlowski and Rosemary Otlowski; and her brother David Otlowski. She is survived by: her daughter Melissa Champine (Jim); her husband Jim; her children, Jennifer Champine, Michelle Morasso (Joey) and Steve Champine; and her grandchildren, Drew Henderson, Cole Champine, Tyson Champine and Gina Morasso.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Peters Funeral Home (20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. As debris mounted during the pandemic, a local television reporter interviewed Val, asking her advice to local litterbugs.
