He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Megan Lee (J. J. Vicari) and William James Schlichting; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Mike Fenner), Kelsey Brasher (Austen Duyser) and Tyler Schlichting; and his siblings, Gail, Ken Kirkpatrick, Thomas and Richard Kirkpatrick.
In lieu of flowers a memorial to First English Evangelical Church 800 Vernier, Grosse Pointe Woods would be appreciated.
