With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sophie Seward of Gwinn, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 27, 2026 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father Karl Kern; and her sisters, Finney and Irmgard. She is survived by: her mother Sophie Kern (Raith); her husband William Seward; her children, Arlie Swailes (Timothy) of Frostburg, MD, Linda Anderson (Mark) of Little Lake, MI, Gabriel Lever (Darren) of Greenwood, SC, Heidi Liptak (Andy) of Bellevue, NE and Norris Seward (Traci) of Sault Ste; her grandchildren, Robert C. Swailes, Nicole Zanoni (David), Don Anderson (Tiffany), Aaron Anderson (Roxanna), Dylan Lever, Kelly Berg (Phil) and Arielle Liptak; and her great grandchildren, Nathaniel, Amelia Zanoni, Norah, Evelyn, Serafia, Wren Anderson, Ezekiel, Ariah and Elin Anderson. She is also survived by nieces & nephews.
