He was predeceased by: his parents, James "JW" Hughes and Bonnie Hughes; and his brother Wendell Hughes. He is survived by: his wife Sherry Hughes (Garrison); his children, Tom Hughes (Heather) and Tracey Desmarais (Dave); his grandchildren, Ian, Cameron and Cole Hughes; his children, Ryder Tatarcuk and Ryann Desmarais; his brothers, Ron (Linda), Mike (Terry), Lantie (Cynthia) and Wade Hughes (Angel); his mother-in-law Lila Garrison; and his brother-in-law Barry Garrison.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Great Lakes National Cemetery (4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI 48442). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Springfield Oaks County Park (12451 Andersonville Rd, Davisburg, MI 48350).
