Karen leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Karen’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Karen will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her husband Michael Boerma; and her brother Steven Carlson. She is survived by: her daughters, Calandra Smith (Matthew) and Brianne Young (Jeffrey); her grandchildren, Anders Smith (Hannah) and Mattea Smith; her stepgrandson Taylor Smith (Michelle); and her siblings, Lauren Tomasiewicz (Robert) and Rowen Carlson. She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.
