She was predeceased by: her husband Martin J. Dykstra; her parents, Frank Hoogland and Margaret Hoogland; and her siblings, John Hoogland, Les Hoogland and Eleanor Borr.

She is survived by: her children, John, Jack (Janet Dykstra), Mike (Melissa Dykstra) and Marcia (Larry Genzink); and her grandchildren, Amy, Mitch Disselkoen, Sara, Tim Monsma, Rachel, Ryan Deters, Patrick Dykstra, Tracy Dykstra, Michael, Tiffany Dykstra, Martin, Morgan Dykstra, Michelle, Ben Kasper, Mark, Lauren Genzink, Katherine and Luke Panning.

Memorial contributions in Arlene's honor may be given to City on a Hill, or Zeeland Christian Schools.
