He was predeceased by: his grandparents, John and Shirley Breedveld. He is survived by: his parents, Doug DeRoo and Kathy DeRoo; his brother Travis DeRoo; his grandparents, Herp and Loie DeRoo; and his aunts and uncles, Sally (Doug Brink), Lisa (Kevin Dykgraff), Kay (Mike Ruiter) and Stef (Jim Eskut). He is also survived by 14 cousins.
