He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Rhoades and Nora Rhoades (Sponseller); his wife Cathy Rhoades; his stepdaughter Tiffany Keith; and his siblings, Harold Rhoades, Clenna Rhoades and Trudy Trujin.

He is survived by: his children, Gary Rhoades Jr. (Gina Jersey) and Melinda Teubert (Ron); his stepsons, Mike and Brian Keith; his grandchildren, Angela Mercurio (Mike), Amy Moser (Scott), Amber Kopka (Nick) and Alex Teubert; his brother Ray Rhoades; and his close friend Rae Wright. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
