He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Connell and Cecelia Connell (Kibilko); his pets, Shep, Briggs and Max; his son Michael; and his sister Donna.

He is survived by: his wife Alma Cumba; his children, David Connell of St. Joseph and Brianna Rodriguez (Chris) of Chicago; his granddaughters, Lola and Natalia; and his sister Jackie Thomas (Pete) of Walled Lake. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
