He was predeceased by : his parents, Daniel Karas and Betty Karas (Green); and his brothers, Fred Karas and John Karas. He is survived by : his wife Coleen Louise Karas (Martin) of Harbor Beach; his sons, Thomas Edward Karas of Harbor Beach and James Edward Karas of Harbor Beach; his granddaughter Maddison Clark; and his siblings, Daniel Karas and Sue Deaton (Bruce Wojtoviets).
