He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Jewell and Patricia Jewell (Wilhelm); his sister Delores Jewell of Boon; and his brother-in-law Gordon Chandler. He is survived by: his significant other Meda Chandler; and his sisters, Donna Langworthy Cook of Sparta, Doris Platz (Steve) of Cadillac and Dorrine Fulk of Bakersville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
