With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Monica Brown of Hartford, Michigan, born in Webster City, Iowa, who passed away on October 2, 2025 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Monica departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Monica. Though Monica may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wayne Bakken and Mardela "Mardy" Bakken (Warland). She is survived by: her daughters, Jessica Gierach (Tom) and Lindsey Brown; her grandchildren, Shelby and Quentin Gierach; and her siblings, David Bakken (Dolores), Maurice Bakken (Pam) and Karen Wallace (Robert).
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Salem Lutheran Church (275 Marvin St, Coloma, MI 49038). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
