We announce the death of David C. Janes of Hastings, Michigan, who passed away on July 1, 2026, at the age of 80. David will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Janes and Marie Janes; his siblings, Robert and Marilyn; and his wife Carla Janes (Bassett).
He is survived by: his children, Bridget Bentley (Matthew), Karen Stauffer (Brad), Katie Kugler (Jason) and Matthew Janes Harrisburg (Lissa); his grandchildren, Tyler, Emily, Sarah, Matthew Jr., Caitlin, Abbie, Noah, Rebekah, Connor, Finn and Collin; and his great grandchildren, Philip, Violet, Ava, Brady and Elowen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (https://donorservices.alz.org) to support research dedicated to fighting the disease that colored David's final years.
