He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard John and Phyllis Lobeth Bishop, Sr. (Reid); his former wife Sherry Bishop (Hoffman); his grandson Ethan Bishop; and his siblings, Suzette Smith (Leon) and Herbert Bishop.
He is survived by: his children, Lori Orton (Perry) and Brian Bishop; his grandchildren, Hayley Hammond (Brett), Elizabeth Ross (Craig), Schylar Orton (Alexis), Arianna Perkins, Nicole Orton and Brittney Arruza (Greg); and his sister Carolyn Jean Steeby (Charlie). He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Girrbach Funeral Home (328 S Broadway St, Hastings, MI 49058). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 1:15 PM at the Rutland Township Cemetery (4600 Upton Rd, Hastings, MI 49058).
