He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce McFarland; his parent Zonnie DeGroat (Johnson); his stepfather Karl DeGroat; and his stepbrothers, Celester DeGroat (Norma) and Carlton DeGroat.
He is survived by: his daughter Kathleen McClaine of Hazel Park; his grandchildren, William Hystad (Devon) and Samantha Pavey; his great grandchildren, Sophia Mae and Scarlett Rae Hystad; his close friends, Arnie Johnson, Paul Doucet and Ernest Thompson; Karl DeGroat.
Memorial donations may be directed the McClaine family, Gary Sinise Foundation or The Disabled Veterans National Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
