He was predeceased by: his parents, Doris Thibodeau, and Joseph Thibodeau, Sr.; and his brothers, Wilfred Thibodeau and Thomas Thibodeau. He is survived by: his children, Sherry Gillespie (Kieth) and Robert Thibodeau, Jr. (Tammy); his grandchildren, Deana Rose Thibodeau (Tommy Klein), Zachary Matthew Gillespie and Cameron Drew Gillespie; and his siblings, Barbara Bolyard and Joseph Thibodeau, Jr..

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Hopcroft Funeral Home-Madison Heights (31145 John R Rd, Madison Heights, MI 48071). The lying in state will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the St. Mary Magdalen Church (50 E Annabelle Ave, Hazel Park, MI 48030). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
