Richard K. Benthien Jr. Obituary

Age 90 of Hemlock passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Covenant Hospital with his family at his side.

Richard was born on August 23, 1931 to Mary and Richard Benthien Sr. in Saginaw. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the class of 1949. He married Mabel Miller on May 26, 1951; they celebrated 70 years of marriage.

Richard retired from General Motors after 37 and a half years. He enjoyed golfing, camping, and watching TV.

Richard is survived by his wife, Mabel Benthien; his daughter Janet (Steve) Pung of Crystal; his son, Thomas Richard Benthien (Dennis Sweeney) of Chicago; his grandchildren, Autumn (Matt) Wicke, Brandon Gehrcke, and Lisa and Matt Kemerer; great-grandchildren, Braden, Jenna, Johnnie, Jordon, Evan, and Aiden.

He is predeceased by his parents, and his daughter, Jean Kemerer.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Covenant Harrison 6 ICU, Dr. Kinachtchouk, and Dawn.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
