He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick P. Karns and Esther Karns (Holmquist); his siblings, Gertrude Johns (Paul), Parmer Karns (Ethel), Arnold Karns (Marleah), Margaret "Peggy" Rambadt (Jack), Arlene Rambadt (Verr), Naomi Jobes (Lloyd), Norman Karns (Cheryl) and Maxine Mund; his sister-in-law Mona Karns; Joan and Cathy.
He is survived by: his wife Linda L. Gibson; his adoptive son Kelly Karns; his daughter Kristie Benjamin (Paul); and his siblings, Joan Herring (Larry), Richard and David Karns. He is also survived by two grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many extended family.
