It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nelson Gerard Van Leeuwen of Hersey, Michigan, who passed away on April 29, 2026, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Neil Leeuwen and Alice Van Leeuwen (Groendyke) of Spring Lake; his former wife Carol; his siblings, Ollie Van Leeuwen (Alma Geerling), Thelma Bottema (Marvin) and Margaret Katt (Jack); and his granddaughter Madelyn Marie.
He is survived by: his wife Dawn Marie; his son Luke Van Leeuwen; his stepchildren, Shawn Moore (Carrie) of Mansfield and Michele Hull (Lewie) of St. Johns, Michigan; and his grandchildren, Melissa Van Leeuwen, Peyton Allen, Zachary, Nicole and Kara Knudson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
