He is survived by: his wife Carole Mejeur; his children, Renee Burget (Jeff), Ferrel Mejeur, Amarah Elliott (Dan) and Jared Mejeur; his grandchildren, Kenzey, Kaylah, Kambryn, Karlye, Hunter, Brinsley, Chase and Adlianna; his siblings, Karen VanDenBerg (Fred), Mel Mejeur (Sue) and Dan Mejeur (Ann); and his siblings-in-law, Ron VanWeelde, Doug VanWeelde and Beth VanWeelde. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rothbury Community Church, 2500 W. Winston Road, Rothbury, MI 49452.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to Carole and family. Wayne will be missed. He was our neighbor and friend. In my mind's eye I can still see him working in his yard and waving from the dock. So many conversations by the fence...many times ending with laughter. He and Carole bringing food over after my husband's surgeries. His kindness and caring ways will always be remembered. He was a good person and a wonderful Christian who lived what he believed. We will miss him.”
