She was predeceased by: her parents, Everett McBee and Mary McBee; her husband Lawrence Pena; and her brothers, Donnie McBee, David McBee and Richard McBee.

She is survived by: her boyfriend Bryan Herrington; her children, Savannah Thornton (Casey), Kevin McBee (Jenny) and Sara Frye; her grandchildren, Samara, Marla, William, Kevin Jr., Victoria and Emma; her great grandchild Jameson; her sister Donna McBee; and her friend Tony Frye. She is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an organization of the donor's choice in Denise's memory.
