He was predeceased by : his parents, Gerald Rea and Amelia Rea (Cadieux); and his brother Walden Hunt. He is survived by : his wife Terry Shooks; his children, Damon Rea (Kallena) and Dana Caldwell (Greg); his stepchildren, Dillon Shooks and Sara Shooks; his grandchildren, Kylie, Layne, Noah and Asher; his brothers, Jerry Rea (Sally) and Bob Hunt (Diane); and the mother of his children Krisanne Rea. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Monday, May 13th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Calvary Episcopal Church (330 State St, Hillman, MI 49746). A memorial service was held on Monday, May 13th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
