He was predeceased by: his parents, George Benjamin and Ruth Benjamin (Whaley); his former spouse Shirley Bennett; and his daughter Lisa Hamlin. He is survived by: his wife Joan Sawdey; his son Dennis Benjamin (Sue) of Lansing; his grandchildren, Sherry Robbins (Jerry), John Hamel, Sarah Benjamin, Scott Benjamin (Bri), Zachary Benjamin and Amber Rahn; and his sister Jackie Huber. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Hillsdale Baptist Church.
